Cademuir Observatory (International Astronomical Union Minor Planet Centre Observatory Z72 (MPC_20131018) was built over the Summer of 2012. The main motivation for building it was simply that I was not observing as much as I’d like to. The time to take out a scope, set it up, wait for it to cool down etc. meant that observing was a full evenings commitment and all too often the clouds would interfere! Having an observatory would mean that I could observe whenever I wanted to with minimal set up time. I went will a roll off roof design located in the old rhubarb patch in my Mothers garden. The design was inspired heavily by Dave Grennan’s observatory in Raheny, Building Z72 describes the building process
